Students from Fisheries Departments Across West Java, Banten, and DKI Gather at the UMMI Campus

Sukabumi, ummi.ac.id – The Fisheries Student Association of Universitas Muhammadiyah Sukabumi (HIMAPI UMMI) proudly hosts a significant event in the fisheries sector by serving as the host for the 16th Regional Work Meeting (Rakerwil) of the Indonesian Fisheries Student Association Region 2 (HIMAPIKANI). The main agenda of this event includes the inauguration of the Executive Board of HIMAPIKANI Region 2 for the 2023-2025 period, formulating the work program of HIMAPIKANI Region 2 for the 2023-2025 period, and making tangible contributions to the development of the fisheries sector. The event took place on (05/02/2024).

With the theme "Weaving Awareness, Building the Future," this event was attended by the new officials of HIMAPIKANI Region 2 from DKI, West Java, and Banten, representing institutions such as Politeknik AUP, Politeknik Pangandaran, Universitas Padjajaran (UNPAD), Universitas Sultan Ageng Tirtayasa (UNTIRTA), Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia (UPI) Serang, Universitas Darussalam (UNIDA), and of course, Universitas Muhammadiyah Sukabumi (UMMI).

The three-day event focused on the work meeting and involved public dialogue activities and fish stocking in the Cinumpang River. The activities were held at three locations: the UMMI campus for the Work Meeting, the Balai Besar Perikanan Budidaya Air Tawar (BBPBAT) Sukabumi for public dialogue, and the Situ Gunung area specifically at the Cinumpang River for fish stocking.

Meanwhile, Gilang, the event's coordinator, hopes that in the future, HIMAPIKANI can contribute positively to its target communities, including cultivators and fishermen, and collaborate to create a sustainable future for the fisheries sector.
