27 Leaders of Muhammadiyah Regions in West Java Hold Meeting at UMMI. What's Happening?

Sukabumi, ummi.ac.id - Universitas Muhammadiyah Sukabumi played host to the Musyawarah Pimpinan Wilayah (Musypimwil) and Qabla Ramadhan religious gathering with the theme "Strengthening Organizational Consolidation for a Dignified, Progressive, and Future-Oriented Persyarikatan" on Saturday (24/2/2024) held at Lapang Barchoya Mansur, Universitas Muhammadiyah Sukabumi (UMMI).

The event was attended by various figures and leaders of Muhammadiyah across West Java, including academics and community activists. It was joined by hundreds of Muhammadiyah members from different parts of West Java. Additionally, representatives from the Muhammadiyah Central Leadership were present to appreciate the consolidation efforts made by the Muhammadiyah West Java Regional Leadership with Universitas Muhammadiyah Sukabumi.

Dr. Reny Sukmawani, M.P., the rector of Universitas Muhammadiyah Sukabumi, explained that this event was a significant mandate that reflects the trust and high expectations of the Muhammadiyah Persyarikatan in UMMI, which hosted the event.

"Universitas Muhammadiyah Sukabumi understands the importance of our role in supporting the vision and mission of the Persyarikatan. We are committed to being good hosts and active contributors in discussions and activities that will strengthen our organizational consolidation," she said.

In his address, the Chairman of the Muhammadiyah West Java Regional Leadership, Prof. Dr. Ahmad Dahlan, M.Ag., emphasized the importance of this assembly as a momentum to strengthen brotherhood and synergy among members and institutions within the Muhammadiyah community in West Java.

"We are at a crossroads where challenges are becoming increasingly complex, thus requiring strong consolidation and adaptive strategies to ensure that Muhammadiyah continues to progress and remains relevant to the needs of the people and the nation," he said.

A Qabla Ramadhan religious gathering was also held as part of the event, a tradition of Muhammadiyah and Universitas Muhammadiyah Sukabumi (UMMI) in welcoming the holy month of Ramadan. The gathering featured Dr Agung Danarto, M.Ag., Chairman of the Muhammadiyah Central Leadership, who delivered a lecture on spiritual and physical preparations for Ramadan and the importance of strengthening solidarity and cooperation among members of the Persyarikatan.

The Musyawarah Pimpinan Wilayah and Qabla Ramadhan religious gatherings are evidence of Muhammadiyah's commitment to strengthening organizational consolidation to achieve the vision of a dignified, progressive, and future-oriented Persyarikatan and make tangible contributions to the development of a better society and nation.
