Fostering Togetherness with School Libraries: UMMI Library Introduces UMMI Corner

Sukabumi, ummi.ac.id—The Universitas Muhammadiyah Sukabumi (UMMI) Library proudly presents the UMMI Corner to schools and orphanages in the city of Sukabumi. The UMMI Corner is dedicated to reading activities and discussions on educational literature and self-development. Alongside the introduction of the UMMI Corner, the UMMI Library also conducted a Bibliotherapy Workshop on Tuesday (6/2/2024) at the UMMI Auditorium.

Representatives from various institutions and schools in the city and district of Sukabumi, the recipients of the UMMI Corner, and members of the general public attended the workshop. The recipients of the UMMI Corner for the year 2024 include the Ummu Khadijah Gegerbitung Orphanage, Muhammadiyah Vocational High School in Sukabumi City, State Senior High School 1 Sukabumi City, State Senior High School 4 Sukabumi City, and State Senior High School 5 Sukabumi City.

In her speech, the Head of UMMI Library expressed her hope that the UMMI Corner would be a source of inspiration and knowledge for the community, especially in enhancing the quality of education and literacy in various aspects.

Furthermore, Dr. Reny Sukmawani, M.P., the rector of UMMI, emphasized that the UMMI Corner could provide a comfortable space for the people of Sukabumi City and District to enhance literacy and self-development.

"With the implementation of this Bibliotherapy Workshop, we hope that we can all learn together about the importance of reading and how books can serve as good companions in dealing with stress and maintaining mental health," she added.

Through the introduction of the UMMI Corner and the execution of the Bibliotherapy Workshop, the residents of Sukabumi City and District will be further motivated to read, develop themselves, and better maintain their mental health.
