Sukabumi, ummi.ac.id – To raise awareness among the community, especially within the university environment, about the importance of protection for women and children, the Integrated Service Center for Women and Children Empowerment (P2TP2A) held a socialization event and signed an MoU with Universitas Muhammadiyah Sukabumi (UMMI) on Tuesday (19/12/2023) at the Sukabumi Regency Hall.

The event was attended by members of P2TP2A, the Prevention and Handling Task Force for Sexual Violence (PPKS) at UMMI, and students from various study programs at Universitas Muhammadiyah Sukabumi.

In her address, Dr. Reny Sukmawani., M.P., expressed the collaboration between UMMI and P2TP2A, as well as the role of the PPKS Task Force at UMMI. "UMMI has formed the Prevention and Handling Task Force for Sexual Violence (PPKS), which has received direct recognition from LLDikti IV in West Java and Banten. The collaboration between UMMI and P2TP2A is an essential foundation," she said.

"I hope that the PPKS Task Force at UMMI can collaborate directly with P2TP2A, and students can become ambassadors who inform others about violence against women and children in their respective environments," Reny continued.

The Chairperson of P2TP2A, Dra. Hj. Yani Djatnika, M.Pd., provided a comprehensive overview of P2TP2A, explaining the essence and constitution of the organization and offering an in-depth understanding of domestic violence, including the rights of victims in such situations. The material presented aimed to increase participants' awareness of the importance of protecting women and children within the household.

The event concluded with providing a Literacy Corner (UMMI Corner) and signing the MoU between UMMI and P2TP2A in Sukabumi Regency.
